George Aitken
George Aitken is a master neon artist, based in Perth, who has been working in the neon industry for over three decades – commissioned by, and manufacturing neon for well-known local, national and international artists. Some of these include; Dr.Jon Tarry, Amanda Bell, Paul Caporn, Paul Kaptein, Drew Straker - Muralist, Brendan Van Hek, Greg Molloy, Kartika Laili Ahmad, George Hamilton Howlett, Tom Muller, Darius Kowal, David Brophy, Brooke Andrew, Jeppe Hein and Nadegata Instant Party (Japan).
George’s art practice is influenced by personal photography, architecture, abstract design, the natural world and light and realised through his exceptional talent as a master of his trade. His commercial works are some of Australia’s most recognised brands.
Years of experience studying the behaviour of reflective light and the taming and contorting of glass, has made Artist George Aitken one of the key Neon Artist’s in Australia. Throughout his career, George became familiar with the intricacies of reflective light and glass work, exploring existing techniques and experimenting with new ways in which to bend glass and reflect light through the delicate material.
Aitken’s captivating work is well respected and highly sought after, with his recent movements involving the planning of exhibitions at a number of galleries throughout Australia.
